May thru today....what a crazy month or two!

OK OK OK so i'm a horrible person for not posting anything sooner. I forget to finish my posts. i have a lot of them started....but picking them up again is next to impossible because i never remember where i was going with a particular thought. but TODAY i'm updating!

So in timeline order :)

May/June:

May was an interesting month. May 8th was aaron's birthday...and we happen to find ourselves driving home. ( we stopped for the night that night since we were both EXHAUSTED....OOOHH ok so back up a bit more) May 7th was aaron's last law school exam for year #2. (yay!) we went out to a place called texas de brazil and celebrated ( its a brazilian steak house...YUMMO! AND we had a coupon for aaron's birthday so his meal was free....LOVE IT!) we woke up early the next day and aaron woke up to a teddy bear and a card for his birthday. normally you would think i'm nuts to give a grown man a teddy bear, BUT the teddy bear was dressed in red's gear and he was holding a card which revealed the REAL gift. ( 4 tickets -amazing seats i might add) to the saturday game of reds vs indians. so we got to take hannah and josh to the game with us and it was a BLAST. soo aaron was very excited about my clever gift. ( how better to say hello cincinnati then a reds game?) SOOO that was very early in the morning, and then we were off in a flurry of action packing up the car and eating and showering and the what not. our sub tennant arrived about an hour earlier then we were hoping for ( annoying yet great!) so we finished packing and were on our way. we got to aaron's parents house sometime in the afternoon the next day (we made amazing time and got to our hotel that night at like 9. BUT we were tired and thought that we should rest and be fresh for the next day) Josh very kindly had removed a large portion of his things from his room so we were able to set up shop. ( we were going to sleep in the basement, but i have a bad back and pull out beds are notorious for making bad backs worse ) Our gracious hosts were SOOOO gracious that they got us skyline for our homecoming lunch. YUM! then next week was a flurry of activity as we were trying to buy a new suv. we ended up with a lovely white (with black insides) mercury mariner. I LOVE IT. driving an suv has changed my life! :) HAHAHAHA after that, aaron's friend mark got married the next weekend. in NC. It was nice to go to a wedding with no worries this time! Mark is a Navy guy so it was a bit Navy-ish. sooo cute because mark isn't very big and he is soo adorable looking (he looks like a bit like a junior high kid....very young face....) the wedding was nice and the drive home was nicer! ( let me tell you, i'm not a huge fan of long car rides anymore) after that i spent a week helping to pack up my mom's house because they bought a new one! its big and pretty and pictures will follow soon. i have to say its not as nice as my parents old house.but this new one has some pretty nice features. its roughly the same sq ft as the old house. but its got a finished basement (PLUS!) with a full bathroom in the basement (PLUS PLUS) and a walk in closet in the spare room in the basement (PLUS PLUS PLUS) --so all those things are benefits for me currently as i'm living there.....anyway. its a first floor master with 2 upstairs loft areas and 2 more bedrooms up stairs. there are 2 stairs to the basement. one off the family room and one off the laundry ( that one leads into the unfinish "storage" part of the basement) ummmm there is an office and a wet bar/kitchenette in the basement ( lots of storage and an extra fridge basically. and there is a laundry ROOM. as in, there are cabinets around the washer/dryer and a CLOSET in this room. its amazing. and for all the people who love to cook ( ME!) there is a......double oven!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) that means dinner and dessert at the same time!!!!!! OMG i'm in heaven!! BUT the range is electric (yuck!) and the sink is porceline (double yuck). not my choice but all things fixable with time and money ( if you want to). so the house is great. packing up the old one kinda was no fun, because my parents keep a lot of stuff, and have passed this lovely quality to my sister and myself (yes i'm admiting to being a bit of a pack rat....to an extent. i'd like to point out that while i may be a pack rat...i do still throw things away....there are just SOME things i can't part with. deal.) SOOO lets see....i veered a bit....let me loop around.... week 2 of being home packing mom's house. (oH and every weekend up until this last one...which was the big and really long -13 hours- move...it was a night mare!) the next week ( week 3) i started my job at UC with mom again. i was hopeful that there would be plenty of work to be done, and i was WRONG. ( and i've grown up a lot since the last time mom and i worked together...back then sitting around doing nothing was OK now its awful) i have a few things to do some mornings, and every now and again, i order something for the IT dept. other then that i have been sitting around doing research for various family related things. such as finding movers and such. i mean i'm allowed to surf the internet as long as i have nothing to do...and sadly that has been the case for a few weeks now. since its a temp job...they can't really give me any BIG projects so i kind of hope for work.... well really that's been the big goings on. most weekends i've been trying to help out with the move. and now i've got to help unpack and organize. aaron is working downtown for the second year in a row. we are praying for an offer at the end of the summer ( so fingers crossed everyone!) but with this economy no one knows.

OH we wanted to get a puppy but have decided (after aaron's parents puppy cost them something close to 2 grand in emergency vet bills - juneau is ok!) to look into the matter further. we both agree that holding off on getting a dog simply because something bad MIGHT happen is silly because you can't plan for life. HOWEVER if its ridiculously expensive to board a dog in a kennel or a vet office, and even to take a dog to the vet and such, then that is an expense you can plan for and evaluate. since i was promised a dog for our 1 year anniversary....ive lifted the promise obligation for the actual aquiring of the dog- BUT i do want to seriously look into it. :)

OOOOOOOOOHHHHHH and living with our inlaws is turning into a great idea. (who would have thought everything would work out SOO wonderfully) i mean we all get along and all so that wasn't the worry. but i was worried about getting in the way or not having enough time for aaron and myself or something silly like that. i'm happy to report that the first half of the summer with aaron's parents went so well that elaine and i are taking yoga classes together. and you really have to like/trust someone if you're going to go to yoga and to the downward facing dog right next to them. or the plank. that is another odd one....also its nice to know that at the end of the session when you're supposed to meditate i'm not the only one thinking about my tummy being rumbly or the weight room sound track coming through. ( so i sing along in my head....its very hard for me to block out music.....i dunno why)

as soon as the house gets figured out ( hopefully this weekend!) hannah and i are going to get ready to redo her room. things will be painted. and made to look fantastic. ( i convinced hannah that it was a better idea to repaint her room and some of her things rather then making mom and dad spend like $500 on a new bed contraption complete with mattress ( oh and more for new sheets) SPEAKING OF MATTRESS! HAHAHA i forgot! aaron and i are enjoying the wonders of aerobed. OMG the first one deflated on us....twice in one night...and floors aren't comfy when your not expecting to sleep directly on them. so the other night we got a new air bed and its pretty nice. since mom has the other house to sell still ( any one wanna buy it? its nice!) we are trying to cut down on expenses. so i guess i'll be sleeping on air...litterally! :)

OK i think that covers everything up until now. the weather around here is just weird. today its really cold out. like 70s. low 70s. very cold next to the 95 with lots of humidity that was last week's fun.

oh well. hope you enjoyed! i'll try to keep up!
