We're Married!

WOWZA! So we are married and its weird. REALLY WEIRD! No one ever tells you how weird it is when you get married. Its a whole adjustment. I mean, Aaron has to wear a ring - which he's never done before. And the ring i'm used to wearing has just doubled in thickness which is just an odd feeling. And the WEIRDEST part of the rings are the "power" they possess. I mean think about it for a moment.....The simple act of wearing a wedding ring means that i'm tied to one person for the rest of my life. I have to look at his mug forever. Not that that's a bad thing or anything, but its just odd. I got to choose this one. You know they say you can't choose you're family and "THEY" are wrong. YOU CHOOSE YOUR SPOUSE I.E. FAMILY. whoa. That's heavy.

In other news the Wedding itself was AWSOME! Please indulge me in my play by play.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 12TH:

7.30 AM - Woke up thinking " If its earlier then 8 am i'm gonna be mad". Opened my eyes to look at the clock and proceeded to wish the time all the most negative things. Naturally when one wakes up, the rest of the body does too...thus a visit to the loo was in order- bummer. Moving means i'm up and the day is started...OH WELL.

7.35 AM - Run into Aunt Ina on the way to the bathroom. UGG People means talking...more being awake. However, Aunt Ina beats me to the bathroom and I decided to make coffee for everyone, Mostly because Uncle Sam is up ( yes i have an uncle sam- its amazing!) and i'm not awake enough to deal with his schenanagens.

8.30 AM - OOO laundry needs to be done and packed into my suitcase. After all i'm moving on TUESDAY. Small amount of freaking out. BREATH and FOLD is all that is on my mind. well, and breakfast.

9.00 AM - Dad wakes up with migrane. the kind that knock him out for about 3 days. OUCH. Aunt Ina is DOCTOR Aunt Ina and came packing magic shot for migranes. OOOOOO a quick shot in the bum and my dad is good as new! DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE! I LOVE IT! I'm reeling from my liver pate and cottage cheese breakfast ( I know it sounds gross...but whatever! its good - not mixed together - but good)

10.00 AM - OMG we have to leave in 45 min for the hair place. ACK! there was a huge scramble to make sure that everything is carefully thrown into the car. Get hannah in the shower - while skipping the usual requisit "I JUST SHOWERED A FEW DAYS AGO!" fight. Mini break down in my bedroom with mom. Its gonna be a hard day!

11.00 AM - Amy at the hair place smiles in a way that says...I GOT THIS! that and my coffee makes me feel ok for now. Beth sits behind me so its weird to talk, and hannah goes to get a trim and a style. bah. i feel isolated with only my coffee and the occasional spray of hair spray to keep me company.

12.00 PM - everyone seems to be done but me, and no laura in sight. small mini private panic attack. but the hair looks good! a bit left to finish up on the hair ( its being fussy and spitting out bobby pins. Amy is noticably getting annoyed- i warned her... :D) and talks of subway make my tum start to rumble.

12.30 PM - Subway is soo off the table, there is a line of like 3-4 people and we need to boogie! We leave Beth to wait for Laura and Patrick and run across the road to McD's. BIG mistake- there is a bigger line there. For the record. my mother was gonna by double cheese burgers for me. sigh... a once in a lifetime event missed because of timing. NO GOOD.

1.30 PM - We meet at Oasis and Patrick is sent on a mission for food. LOL hungry women are dangerous. there is a bit of a scramble to make sense of all the stuff in the room but all is working out. The photographer shows up around 2 to muck things up. he wants pictures of the dress and such. I suppose i'll appreciate it eventually but not when i'm trying to get dressed and made up. Laura was a gem. she fed me subway between being abused with eyeshadow from my mom. "quick, she's looking for something, take a bite!" was one of my favorite phrases from the whole night.

2.30 PM - PICTURES! Just of Aaron and Me. The photographer had set Aaron up facing away from the door on the patio where the ceremony was gonna be. I got to sneak up on him. :D ok so giving me that was a bit of a mistake on the photographer's part because i tortured aaron a bit. but when he turned around it was great. he was just wowed by my outfit ( yay!) overall a lot of
fun!

3.00 pm - Family pictures. They were fun! it took us a while to get through though. we are just a chatty family! well. because of the light, the photographer was having a bit of trouble also. i dunno much about it but it was still fun. about that time my shoes started to bug me. oye vey! 2 hours to the ceremony... these shoes have got to go i hope!

4.00 PM - Bedeken! It was quick, the Rabbi read a prayer and that was that. Then the ketubah signing and signing of the souviner wedding license. and then individual time with the family. THAT was hard. It felt like i was saying good bye to my parents. we cried a bit. it was very emotional. hannah got upset because we were upset. she's silly. Aaron's crew seemed fine, but i wasn't paying them much mind. I have to say, i haven't seen my parent since monday late afternoon and it sucks soo much. ANYWAY getting on with the story...

4.50 PM - OMG we gotta go line up and get ready! WOW! it was a bit of a struggle because the groomsmen were having to walk the grandparents down the isle and come back to walk again. Scary, I can hear the music when they open the doors, SOO many people. OMG, thoughts of "this a joke right?" ran through my head. Too late, MY TURN! Don't trip and don't cry. Made it down the isle ok.

5.00 PM - Ceremony starts. Let me add the wedding was perfect, save the golfers on the green below. I'd be lying if i said i ignored them. every time i felt like i wanted to cry i looked at a cute little boy out with his papa. it got me through without crying, and you can't ruin the makeup with mom standing right there, because she'll get started too.

5.30 pm - the glass is broken and aaron and i loose our families on the way back to our dressing room. they seemed to get waylayed by the happy people. Umm, what next? MORE PICTURES with the wedding party. I love it. We took a cool picture in this area that had some tall grass. I kinda trusted the photographer for this one, because all i could think of was, i hope i dont pick up any small woodland creatures in my dress. that would be icky. Lucky for me i didn't. we had fun, and in the end we did a picture where i look like the QB. its really cool - i hope!

6.15 PM - "INTRODUCING THE NEW MR & MRS Aaron & Jennifer Kaplan!" WOOOOO fun! My dad made a really touching welcome speech. he's a great guy and i'm lucky to have him. Nate and Laura also delivered amazing speeches. WOW

6.30 PM - CHOW TIME. Food was yummy! I had seabass and Aaron had filet minion. both were really good. i tried to ask for a mojito with dinner and was shot down. then i asked for a lemon drop martini and was shot down again. reisling. you betcha shot down. Makes me sad. All my favorite drinks, on my wedding day. NOPE. I ended up with chardonnay and what was left of my champagne from the toasts. Didn't want to feel like a lush, so i turned down wine with dinner. :D

Sometime after dinner.... Aaron and i left the party to go for a few more pictures. they were fun, and aaron got to drive a golf cart. That was scary because i couldn't really bend much at the waist bc of the dress. so i couldn't really sit comfortably. oh well. :) the pictures should be neat. after the pictures we got reintroduced into the room for the cake cutting. I nailed aaron! :) yay! that was fun. then Nate, aaron's middle bro, sang our first song "moondance" and did a beautiful job. I have to say we had fun and i got to spin a few times. weee! the other dances were great and then the party started and didn't stop.

so thats a quick run down of the wedding.

AFTER:
Aaron and i went downtown after and spend the night in the cincinnatian. it was a blast! i love boutique hotels!

and that sums it up. I'll write more about married life when it occurs to me. HOWEVER a few final thoughts:

1- 16 year olds should be monitored and warned before being turned loose with "of drinking age" cousins. LOL my poor brother in law got soo blasted.
2- when hiring a dj, make sure to write everything down so they dont get confused and play hannah montana songs
3- when getting ready to party make sure to stretch and make sure to wrap weak joints. my legs still hurt and so does my knee.

Hooray for married life! I love your play-by-play of the wedding day. Have to admit that Hannah Montana song kept playing in my head during work today, ahhh!!!
